For those of you who have been using Maya 2009, you've undoubtedly grown very fond of the new Soft Selection feature. Here's a quick tip I picked up the other day -- It turns out that you can adjust the falloff radius as you would adjust the brush size with any of the paint tools. Just hold down b and drag the left mouse button to scale the falloff size.

love the soft select
Thanks, it's the same with Blender (though you have to press b twice)! Speaking of selection; I also discovered that you can adjust the move/scale/rotate tool handle sizes by pressing +/- in component mode, is that significant?
yup, using +/- to size the transform tools is a great shortcut
Also, I should have included originally:
Holding b lets your scale the falloff. Just hitting b toggles in and out of soft falloff mode.
